2006-2008 Cayman S’s continue to be the sports-car bargain of the year!. You get so much car, so much performance, such a melding of classic Porsche style and modern Porsche conveniences for so much less than these cars were when they came out. Barely over 3000 pounds, almost 300 Horsepower, 235mm and 265mm section width tires front and back, and a 7200rpm redline. These 987.1 Cayman S’s are such an incredible joy to drive, dare we say as fun as their 911 siblings, and just as, if not more nimble than the aforementioned Carreras.
We are always looking for stunning examples of these cars, and while there are many out there whose owners allowed them to get dented / dinged / scratched / ripped / torn / who knows what else, there are those that were obviously lovingly cared for by enthusiast caretakers (i.e. owners), and those are the ones we get extremely excited about. Such as this example,
As a general rule we think that Porsche’s look good in just about any color, but this Cobalt Blue, wow, we really mean it, just wow. We have literally been caught staring at this car in the sun just marveling at the depth of that paint. [Rodger the owner here: If I ever custom order a Porsche from the factory for European Delivery, Cobalt Blue is going to be the color, hands down, I’m smitten.] This combined with the Stone Grey Leather interior really works perfectly. Quite frankly it would work with tan or black interior either, but the contrast between gray inside and cobalt metallic outside just works perfectly.
OK, enough about the color, the condition of this car is exceptional. It has about 59,000 miles on it, but my lord this thing has been well taken care of. Many usual spots where you can usually see wear are simply perfect on this car, the Temp/Fan switch buttons, the soft touch coating on the ashtray and center console, the wheels have ZZZZEEERRROOO curb rash, and the seats / carpets / doors all look just about new! It’s a Two-Owner car that has spent its life in Texas and Arizona, so not a lick of rust (obviously!). There is a binder filled with all service records since new. It has both keys, the owners manual, and even the original window sticker.
We are including a 6 month extended warranty with this car! (Which can be upgraded to a longer duration contract if you so choose)
It comes equipped with Bridgestone Potenza tires in 235/35R19 with 9/32″ of tread (90%) in front and 265/35/R19 and 6/32″ (60%) in the rear. All four corners have brand new OEM Porsche rotors and pads (installed less than 1,000 miles ago). The oil has been changed regularly, every 7500 miles as per Porsche recommendations with Mobile-1 Porsche spec 5W40.
Here is the Factory Build Sheet;
This car comes with a small folder of all service records (there clearly hasn’t been much service required), The original Window Sticker, Owners Manuals, and both keys!
This is definitely a special car, and we fully believe a car’s condition, mechanically and cosmetically counts for much more than just mileage. We have seen 20,000-mile cars that we had to pass up because they were just so thrashed, there was no way to clean them up to our standard. This car exemplifies the exact type of car we are excited to find! Our goal is to offer extra clean, extra nice enthusiast sports cars for people that understand the magic and mystique of rowing through the gears on a proper sports car.
A little bit of history on the Porsche Cayman; When the 987 (internal designation from Porsche) was released it simply blew people away, some people said; “Its what the Boxster should have been from the get go”. Its a perfect blend of style, functionality, mid-engine driveline, power, weight, and handling. It’s truly one of our favorite Porsches that’s been manufactured in the past 25 years, and while the prices for these have dropped somewhat, the performance, fun, and cachet associated with them has not!
We love fielding calls with any questions or additional information.
